Canberra’s Universities and CIT Open Days

Last weekend ACU, UC, ANU and CIT all had their open days.

Below are some images of current and ex-students learning more about the universities and colleges as well as advertising them with their skills and knowledge.

These events were very interesting and when comparing the different options they really gave students the opportunity to understand better the difference between their options.

Remember that there are many leaflets and lots of course information available in the senior common room from the open days.

University of Canberra Application Support Sessions

On Wednesday of week 8 UC will be coming to SFX to carry out application support sessions with students one on one. If you wish to attend one of these meetings then please come to the careers office to sign up. We have very few slots left but with enough interest we can put on another day of discussions. So if you are even considering putting UC on your application then sign up and get some free advise on achieving what you want to.

University Applications – LATE FEES FROM OCTOBER

It can be overwhelming hearing words such as, UAC, VTAC, QTAC , SATAC and TISC being thrown around when you are trying to navigate the next steps to completing your university application. But fear not, the Careers Department is here to help!

There is a suite of videos from the University Admissions Centre (UAC) to help year 12s with the application process. UAC is responsible for processing applications to most universities in the ACT and NSW. A list of the universities that fall within the ACT and NSW jurisdiction can be found UAC Newsletter Super Edition. We’d also encourage students to download the UAC app for Apple and Android for further information on courses, and much more.

The Careers Department can also help and provide support to students with their applications – please contact Mr Stewart to arrange a time, if you would like face to face assistance.

Please also keep a close eye on the careersfx.com.au for the WEBSITE CALENDAR!!!

Good luck, we look forward to supporting you.
