Defence Force Recruiting Visiting SFX

Defence Force Recruiting will be visiting SFX on Wednesday 24th July during period 4.

 

The Defence Force Recruiting team will run a session with students and discuss life in the ADF with a trade role.

This session is designed for Year 10 students who are planning on studying accredited packages in College.

It is also open to any Senior students who may be interested in pursuing a trade career in the Australian Defence Force.

Register your interest with Mr Stewart in the Careers Office by Tuesday 23rd July.

ASbAs, Apprenticeship, Cadetship and Traineeship Opportunities

A school-based apprenticeship or traineeship (ASBA) is an apprenticeship or traineeship undertaken by a student enrolled in a senior secondary program, with at least one day per week timetabled to be spent on the job or in training during the normal school week. Please come see the career team if you are at all interested in a Traineeship or Schools Based Apprenticeship.

 

National Endangered Skills and Trades show (Nests)

13th of July at the Visions Theatre  6pm-8.30pm

Come and join us for the National Endangered Skills and Trades Show seminar, a celebration of artisans, makers and repairers using traditional skills and knowledge as a basis for innovation and change. Learn about keeping vocational skills alive such as book binding, taxidermy, and heritage lock-smithing and how traditional knowledge can help create new products and new solutions for an innovative future. Join us and hear about how traditional training combined with inventive youth, creates new industries.

Introduction to Nursing course for Semester 2 

CIT are currently enrolling student into the Introduction to Nursing course for Semester 2  ( https://cit.edu.au/courses/health_fitness/nursing/SA-HS20) and I thought you may have students interested in enrolling into this course.

 

Details are - CIT training occurs on Thursdays

Students will gain a statement of attainment for the two units if they are deemed as competent.

Two units are - they are from the Diploma of Nursing and student will receive RPL if they go onto CIT to do Nursing. (The units will be challenging as they are from the diploma)

AIE's Industry Experience Days are a great opportunity for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 to learn about the local and international game development, 3D animation and visual effects industries. Students will get the opportunity to learn about the different pathways to get into the industry, what should be in a portfolio and will be able to get creative in practical workshops using industry-standard 3D animation and game development tools.

 

The sessions are run by industry professionals who have worked on some blockbuster games and films. Everything is provided for you to participate in the hands-on workshops and you will be using the same software that is used in the industry.
